Today morning I was doing some work
& listening to “Kunti kumari” - a private song sung by the great legend Ghantasala
about the agonising pain of ‘Kunti’ departing with her just born child from
Lord ‘Suryadev’ due to the wish given to her by sage ‘Durvasa’ and now she has
to relinquish the child as she is still unmarried and cannot keep her child. So
she puts him in a basket & leaves it in a river…this is the story of “Karna”
as we all know….I just thought how bad Karna would have felt when during the
Kurushetra war, Kunti comes to him & reveals that he is her son, may be
only with the aim of asking him to promise not to harm her other five sons “Pandavas”
in the war!
I
hear many people complaining that their life is too boring or that it sucks! That
they have nothing to cheer up as they cannot do what they wanted to or reach
their goals or destinations, or that fate had played a nasty game with them or
that their life has become so monotonous & so on…..
A
connection could be found for all the gloominess in our lives….If we look at
even our epics like Ramayana & Mahabharatha, it will be definitely be an
eye-opener that even great kings, warriors & great women were subjected to
very bad situations and suffered a lot…..Even the Almighty when born as human “Rama”
has to take tough test in his life…So is the same with “Jesus” who took the suffering
of people upon him....or for that matter if we think, we realize that there is
no soul ever who escaped suffering……
Pain
& suffering are inevitable in our life. As it’s said that good & bad,
beauty & ugly, divine & evil, happy & sorrow are the two sides of a
coin…One cannot live without the other, both are required to maintain the
balance of our lives… and like day & night comes so are the phases of
sadness & happiness in our lives…We cannot cherish pleasures if we don’t
know the what melancholy is…cannot know what it is to have a bowl full of rice
if we don’t know what hunger is!
During
any suffering the question that ,we often put to ourselves “WHY ONLY ME?”
always has answers….It’s not just only you…If we look around we realize that
every one asks this same question to themselves…only that we don’t know it! So
never feel it’s only you who are suffering and that only your life is in chaos &
every body is fine, happily enjoying their lives!
“Connecting
with SELF” is the only solution for all our worries. Even in the worst of situations
don’t loose confidence on yourself….Stick to it! Be aware that this bad phase
too shall pass…Just hold on & keep your peace…Meditate or do any work that
calms your mind, like listening to music or reading books or talking to
friends, whatever that brings a smile to your face…
Cultivate”CONTENTMENT”
and make it blossom & find the wonder it brings to our lives!
If we are one “Connected with SELF” & “CONTENDED”, we never
ever say
"I' M NOT OK...YOU ARE OK..."
Instead, we say
"I'M OK...YOU ARE OK..."
