Sree Rama Navami

Hello Friends,

Sreerama Navami(Birthday of Lord Rama) was celebrated throughout the country with lot of devotion. In South Indian temples SreeRama Kalyanotsavam (Marriage of Lord Rama with Seeta) is celebrated. The ritual is performed not only in big temples but also in every small temple.Prasad is made of soaked Moong Dal+Sugar mixture called 'Vadapappu' & a sweet drink made by dissolving sugar/jaggery in water & adding elachi/black pepper powder to it and this drink is called 'Paanakam'.Devotees gather in very large numbers to view the marriage of god.The priests perform the ritual amid Veda mantroccharana (recital of Vedas & mantras). The kalyanotsavam is perfectly conducted with events like Kanyadanam(to give goddess Sita hand into Lord Rama's),Subhamuhurtham(mixture of jaggery & jeera kept on heads of Rama & Sita, which signifies that how the jaggery sticks with jeera, so will we be as a couple), Mangalyadharana(to tie the sacred mangalsutra made of golden sutras,(they look round in shape & size of a 50 paise coin) tied to yellow thread/gold chain in the neck of goddess Sita by Lord Rama),Muthyala thalambralu{white pearls/white rice grains/rice grains mixed with Haldi(yellow colored) or Kumkum(red colored) powders are poured on heads of the couple}.The priests carry all these rituals to the idols of Lord Rama & Goddess Sita on behalf of both of them.

Bhadrachalam,
a very famous temple in South India situated on the
banks of river Godavari in Khammam district of AndhraPradesh,India
conducts thisKalyanotsavam on a very large scale.Lakhs of devootes come
from various parts of the country to participate in this festival. Here the
temple was constructed byBhakta Ramadasa( a devotee of Lord Rama)
in 17th century A.D.

Lord' Rama's Temple in Bhardachalam

On behalf of the Government of AndhraPradesh, the Chief minister offers 'Pattuvasthralu' (clothes-sari & dhoti made of golden zari) & Muthyala thalambralu to lord.

One must be present in these festivals to view its glory.

Early morning,I performed puja(worship of god) in my house & offered prasadam- vadapappu & panakam & went to a near-by temple & had the opportunity of participating in the kalyanotsavam. My heart was immersed with prayers of Lord Rama & my lips began to sing...

"Sree Rama Jai Rama Jaiya Jaiya Rama
Sree Rama Jai Rama Jaiya Jaiya Rama"

ARE INDIANS DYING?

Friends,

I want to share with you what happened just a few minutes back...

Our dhobi came to my house to give our pressed clothes. While going away, she began to speak something that i couldn't get.Again she started repeating it in a particular slang language & its gist is...
"Some particular region people are coming to this place, working hard ,earning 'lots' of money, buying properties like buildings, lands & therefore lands rates are increasing here and we, the people of this place are unable to buy anything. So ,those people should not be allowed to come here."

I was clueless at her talking like this.I wanted to explain to her that her perception is incorrect.
But again as i was very busy with my house-work,I let it go.But even if i take the risk & task of explaining to her, ruining my work,I know she wouldn't understand it.

Why would she have to understand it in the first place? She is not literate like our politicians. When our so-called intellectual brains & politicians in our country are favoring separation of states or asking people of other states to get out of their states, (separation of Telengana from AndhraPradesh & MNS in Maharastra threatening U.P., Bihar & other states people....etc)
why should this poor lady have to understand???
I let her go thinking it was "dhobitics" just like politics.

One more thing i would like to share...
The other day, i was going through some blogs & i happened to see a blog of some 37 yr old lady lawyer of Mumbai in which she writes about some tips to remember while in Mumbai & its like this.....
  • if u are belonging to U.P or Bihar, be prepared to face criticism etc.
  • if u r someone from south be prepared to be referred to as 'black' & laughed at ur slang hindi...
  • She says that she don't even want to explain what a Madras person is like?
DAMN SHE!!!What does she want to say???

I am not from Madras or U.P or Bihar but i have felt very angry at what she wrote?
Is it sensible of her to write all this considering her age, education & knowledge???

COME ON???
Is the concept of ONENESS & UNITY dying in us???
Are we not INDIANS ???
Have forgot the lessons we learned as a child..."Unity in Diversity"????
Do we better prefer to be associated with regionalism???
Do we remember that we are Indians only when we watch cricket????

Is the word "INDIAN" fading away & is it going to die soon????
Anybody,Please answer me.

My first hello

My dear friend,my blog....
It was from a long time i wanted to meet you but hadn't.It's said better late than never. So,let me tell you my first 'hello'.
A journey of thousand miles begins with a single step.
Hope our first step of friendship transforms into a long cherished journey.
You may ask me"Why ME?Don't you have humans out there in the world to make friends???"
My dear, Of course, i do have friends. But we humans have become very busy...busy with our work, own commitments, own problems....that we lack time even to talk freely to a friend other than just wishing a hai! or bye!
I have become a machine.......the same old routine...chasing the clock...running rat race.... analysing past, planning for future and unfortunately & sadly 'forgetting' to live in the present.
My heart has been crying very loud since longtime but my ears pretended not to hear.My heart was always saying"Make me free".Freedom from all the hassles of the world,inhibitions,fear.... to a place where it can be true to itself.
Where can such a place be other than yours...your 'home'?
Who can such a friend be other than 'you'?

You are eager to...
listen to me...
share my feelings...
lessen my worries...
increase my happiness...
understand my thoughts...
speak my voice...& most importantly give
freedom to my 'self'...
Just like the colors of a rainbow, our friendship should fascinate the world.
Let us both unite in saluting the great Rabindranath Tagore who said...
"Where mind is without fear...
Where knowledge is free...

Where words come from depth of truth...

Into that heaven of freedom,my father, let my country awake..."

At last this is my place....MY BLOG where i can do justice to my inner voice and free myself from all the so called invisible barriers of the world created by no other but by us... humans.
Dedicated
To all those who agree* ...
To all those who don't agree*...

*
with my perceptions,thoughts,feelings,opinions...whatever!!!
